Columbus program

Discover the Columbus Program, an exclusive mentorship initiative led by Ivy League undergraduates to help Hungarian students get into elite universities in the US. We pair each student with a mentor aligned with their unique aspirations and academic interests, with whom the student will develop an Action Plan.
This plan is a comprehensive roadmap tailored to the student’s goals and target university to help develop an appealing admission portfolio to maximize the chances of acceptance.
To help realize these plans our mentors are equipped to assist students in various areas with personalized mentoring sessions, including:

  • Extracurriculars: Developing passion projects, engaging in research, participating in volunteer work, securing leadership roles, and finding summer internships.
  • Academics: Preparing for the SAT, and language exams, assisting with research, and strategizing coursework.
  • College Applications: Crafting a tailored college list, navigating the Common Application, and refining supplemental essays.

Our Columbus Sport program consists of four components, which we adapt to the needs of the students.

  1. Research, search for suitable universities – We help you find suitable universities where you have a realistic chance of being admitted!
  2. Contacting the coaches – We help you get and stay in touch with the coaches working at the university, who will later support you during your admission.
  3. Standardized tests – Even as an athlete, it is highly recommended to take the SAT, and for Hungarians a language exam is also mandatory, so we help you prepare for these. A good SAT score can even guarantee admission as an athlete.
  4. Application materials – Even as an athlete, you must submit your admission materials in the Common Application system, and if you are on the verge of admission the decision of the university comes down to your essays. We also help with the translation of financial documents.

Then you have came to the right place!

As part of our EuroU program, you can prepare for admission abroad with an expert mentor who has been accepted not only at Bocconi University, but also at several Dutch, Danish and Swedish universities.

Our EuroU program consists of the following components:

  1. Help in choosing the right university and major – We help you choose a university and major that suit your interests and abilities.
  2. Preparation for various tests – Foreign universities often ask for standardized tests, such as international language tests and the SAT. We also help you prepare for these tests with mentors who have successfully overcome the obstacle themselves and achieved near-perfect scores.
  3. Help in submitting the application – Europe’s universities do not have a common admissions system, nor admission requirements. We inform you about the admission requirements and help you navigate the application process, and make sure you turn in all your application materials on time.
  4. Compilation of the documents required for the application – It is not uncommon for you to be asked for a motivation letter, CV or other documents at universities in Europe, which play an important role in admissions. We help with every step of the process in crafting these documents.
  5. Extracurricular activities – in some universities in Europe, extracurricular activities are also taken into account during the admission process, they can be used when writing a motivation letter and CV. We will help you select these and decide which ones are useful for your application.
